1. NINS’s Childcare Support System

This system is intended to partially cover expenses for childcare services, including temporary daycare (such as external childcare and babysitting services) and care for sick or recovering children, when it is deemed necessary for their parents to work or study.

Eligibility
*Those receiving equivalent support from NAOJ are excluded.

  1. Executives and employees of NINS
  2. Research collaborators conducting joint research projects at NINS institutions
  3. Students accepted at a member institution of NINS
  4. Others deemed to be eligible by the Director of the Board in charge of gender equality
Eligible Children
Children up to the sixth grade of elementary school
Services Covered by this System
Temporary daycare, babysitting, and daycare for sick or recovering children (excluding normal and extended-hours daycare)
Daily Amount
3,000 JPY per day (tax included)
*If your fees are less than the daily amount, the maximum amount of support shall be capped at the amount of the fees you paid.
Yearly Limit
A total of up to 15,000 JPY per child within a given fiscal year
Application Procedure
To receive the support, submit an application in advance to the Employee Affairs Unit using the form below (English version not yet available). If unavoidable circumstances prevent you from submitting on time, submit the form within two weeks after using the childcare services. (Note that any submission later than two weeks after using childcare services will not be accepted.)
Application to Utilize Childcare Support Program (大学共同利用機関法人自然科学研究機構育児支援制度利用申請書)

This system is intended to be used in the following situations:

  • When you are unable to bring your child to the Childcare Room in Mitaka Campus
  • When your situation does not meet the requirements for the Child Daycare Support System for Conferences or Business Trips

The fees for the Childcare Room are, of course, covered by this support (provided you are not receiving NAOJ’s Child Daycare Support).

2. NINS’s Support System for Business Travel with Children

This support system is designed to partially cover transportation expenses for children accompanying their parents on a business trip.

Eligibility
*Those receiving equivalent support from NAOJ are excluded.
  1. Executives and employees of NINS
  2. Research collaborators conducting joint research projects at NINS institutions
  3. Students on a business trip on behalf of NINS
  4. Research staff accepted into NINS
  5. Others who are deemed to be eligible by the Director of the Board in charge of gender equality
Eligible Children
Children up to the sixth grade of elementary school
Purpose
Transportation expenses for parents going on a business trip with their children on behalf of NINS
Maximum Amount
Up to 25,000 JPY per child within a given fiscal year
*If your business trip spans multiple fiscal years, the support for the trip shall be tabulated for the fiscal year in which the trip ends.
Application Procedure
To receive the support, submit an application in advance to the Employee Affairs Unit using the form below (English version not yet available).
