CSV2017: Remaining CSV tasks†

Tasks†

• Final check of radio pointing offsets in BAND8 and DASH345 (~1 day)
  • Their KISA files were updated on May 31th. Confirm reasonable pointing results with the files.
• Test observations with WHSF and MAC (~1.5 day)
  • Confirm reasonable spectra toward reference and pointing sources.
• Tsys measurements in BAND8 and DASH345 (~0.5 day)
  • Tune the receivers at the following LO frequencies at EL=60 and measure Tsys.
  • Adjust the receivers if necessary

Preparations†

1. Basic checks
   • Make sure that DASH3 and BAND8 are linked to the following files

     • If not, contact with CSV lead.
   • Set all subref parameters (dx,dy,dz,dtx,dty,dtz) zeros in the subref offset GUI.
   • Confirm that Aspirin is working in the "WIND ON" mode. If not, start it following the instructions in How to restart Aspirin.

Final check of radio pointing offsets of DASH345/BAND8†

• Repeat the following loop twice at each of Saturn's ELs = ~30-40, ~50-60 and ~70-80.

1. Tune DASH345
   • Tuning of DASH345/BAND8 for continuum observations
2. Adjust pointing toward Saturn with DASH345

   • Record resultant pointing offsets.
3. Measure pointing offsets toward Saturn with DASH345

4. Tune BAND8
5. Measure pointing offsets toward Saturn with BAND8

   aste17:radpon/istx5b8.start

6. Tune DASH345
7. Measure pointing offsets toward Saturn with DASH345

   aste17:radpon/istx5d3.start

8. Tune BAND8
9. Measure pointing offsets toward Saturn with BAND8

   aste17:radpon/istx5b8.start

• Just measure, and don't adjust in Step 3,5,7 and 9.
  • Record the pointing offsets of the last AZ and EL scans.
• If pointing results are not good (e.g. >= 8"), restore previous version at the end of the day.
