PICOMOTORS CONTROL
Today we completed the test on picomotor motion succeding in moving a test picomotor using "old" picomotor Multiaxis driver 8732 (see picture1) controlled by pc.
A recap of the different option we tested to move the picomotrs:
1) by using "new" newfocus 8753 picomotor controller, connected to the pc by ethernet connection and controlled using labview (MCL commands). See picture 2.
2) by using Multiaxis driver 8732 controlled by hand-pad.
3) by using Multiaxis driver 8732 conected to the computer by GPIB (using GPIB-USB -HS cable) and custom labview VI.
PICOMOTORS CABLING
Today we have found many out-of vacum cables, probably used for double pendulum suspensions.
A recap of what we needed:
PR chamber
- 1 cable for controlling 2 picomotors of double pendulum suspension
- 1 cable for controlling 4 picomotors of the 2 steering mirrors after the faraday isolator
BS chamber
- 1 cable for controlling 2 picomotors of double pendulum suspension
- 1 cable for controlling 2 picomotors of the fixed telescope mirror
NM2 chamber
- 1 cable for controlling 2 picomotors of double pendulum suspension
EM2 chamber
- 1 cable for controlling 2 picomotors of double pendulum suspension
We have found:
- 3 cables ready for controlling double suspensions (used for NM1, NM2, BS, see picture 3)
- 1 cable ready for controlling the 2 steering mirrors in PR chamber (see picutre 3)
- many spare cables that can be used to control the fixed telescope mirror
We are still missing a double suspension cable wich can be easly done using one of the spares we have.
